Radiologic Tech FT
About the role
The Radiologic Technologist operates routine radiography equipment, fluoroscopy, portable x-ray machines and operating room imaging equipment. Performs patient care services relevant to imaging procedures to include IV access starts and injection of contrast. This position requires interaction with radiologists and referring physicians.
Responsibilities
- Administers contrast media orally, rectally or intravenously as required.
- Screens patients, escorts and hospital personnel for entrance into the magnet room.
- Ensures patient is prepped (hx form, medications, etc.) prior to procedure.
- Properly processes films and evaluates for quality and completeness.
- Provides care based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective.
- Performs tracers and observations of clinical practices to assess.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a two-year accredited radiography program (JCERT accredited preferred)
- Active certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible and obtain certification with the probationary hiring / employment period
- BLS Required within 6 months of hire.
