About the role
The Radiologic Technologist at Logan Regional Medical Center supports accurate and timely patient diagnosis and treatment through diagnostic imaging procedures. This role involves positioning patients, selecting appropriate technical factors, and producing high-quality images in compliance with physician orders, established protocols, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Reviews patient history and physician’s orders
- Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient’s understanding and cooperation
- Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
- Maintains patient condition and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
- Prepares equipment and supplies
- Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters
- Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment
- Troubleshoots, resolves, or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary
- Positions patient and performs imaging procedures
- Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results
- Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure
- Enters, transmits, and reports scan results
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice Upon Hire (required)
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire (required)
1+ years radiologic tech experience (preferred)
BCLS required
Qualifications
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Skills
Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) graduate of an accredited program of medical radiography (required)
