Radiologic Modality Specialist

Employment Type: Full time | Shift: Day Shift; M-F (9:00am - 5:30pm)

About the Role

In this role, the Radiology Imaging X-Ray Modality Technical Specialist functions as the technical "subject matter expert" in collaboration with Radiology Leadership, including Physician Leader(s). This position is responsible for the development and implementation of all clinical imaging protocols for the region. The specialist acts as the chief educator and super trainer for all staff, Clinical Instructor, oversees scanner accreditations, safety protocols, research projects, and directs quality for the modality. Additionally, this person serves as a liaison between equipment vendors, physicians, and staff, while performing technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative to provide high-quality diagnostic information.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement clinical imaging protocols for the region.
• Act as chief educator and super trainer for all staff.
• Serve as Clinical Instructor and oversee scanner accreditations.
• Oversee all safety protocols and research projects.
• Direct quality for the modality and serve as a liaison between equipment vendors, physicians, and staff.
• Perform technical procedures using modality-specific techniques requiring independent judgment and initiative.
• Provide coverage as needed, including on-call, weekend, holiday, and emergency situations.
• Travel to offsite locations as required.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent training acquired via work experience or education (AMA-approved program).
• 3-5 years of previous job-related experience.
• Preferred: Industry work experience as an X-Ray Application Specialist with a major medical equipment vendor.

Qualifications

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist R.T.(R)(ARRT) certification.
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency Certification (IEMA).
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification from the American Heart Association.

Pay

Annual Salary Range: $35.00 - $59.00 per hour. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.

Schedule

• Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm.
• Rotation: Scheduled as a working technologist 4 days a week with 8 hours of office time.
