Shift: Day Shift; M-F (9:00am - 5:30pm)
Rotation: Individual will be scheduled as a working technologist 4 days of the week and provided 8 hours of office time.

About the Role

In this role, the Radiology Imaging X-Ray Modality Technical Specialist, in collaboration with the Radiology Leadership, including Physician Leader(s), functions as the technical "subject matter expert". This position is charged with the development & implementation of all clinical imaging protocols for the region. The Radiology Imaging X-Ray Modality Technical Specialist acts as the chief educator/super trainer for all staff, Clinical Instructor, Scanner Accreditations, oversees all Safety protocols and all research projects, directs quality for the modality, and serves as a liaison between the equipment vendor, physicians, & staff. In addition, this person performs technical procedures, applying modality-specific techniques that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative to provide the physician with the highest quality of diagnostic information.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement clinical imaging protocols for the region
  • Act as chief educator and super trainer for all staff
  • Serve as Clinical Instructor and oversee Scanner Accreditations
  • Oversee all Safety protocols and research projects
  • Direct quality for the modality
  • Serve as liaison between equipment vendor, physicians, and staff
  • Perform technical procedures requiring independent judgement and initiative

Requirements

  • Associate degree; or equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
  • Specific Degree(s): Radiologic Technology; Radiology Technologist - AMA approved program
  • 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
  • May require on-call, weekend, holiday, and emergency coverage as department needs warrant
  • Requires traveling to offsite locations as needed
  • Preferred: industry work experience as X-Ray Application Specialist with a major medical equipment vendor

Qualifications

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist R.T.(R)(ARRT) (ARRT) Approved AMA program
  • Illinois Emergency Management Agency Certification (IEMA)
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association

Pay

Annual Salary Range: $35.00 - $59.00 per hour. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
