About the role

The Radio Communications Specialist will provide senior-level program management, administrative, and engineering support for communications-based projects in the Warrenton and Herndon areas, supporting US Government customers.

Responsibilities

  • Support Sponsor tactical communications projects and design, including ICOM, Motorola, and Harris equipment.
  • Work with Sponsor systems such as BASIS and GENESIS; prepare approval memos and messages.
  • Apply current installation procedures (CIP) and conduct field training of personnel.
  • Explain technical procedures, processes, and site-survey results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analyze and respond to comprehensive tactical requirements.
  • Adhere to security, safety, counterintelligence, and communications policies and procedures.
  • Perform specialized equipment and system installations, modifications, and upgrades independently.
  • Test, identify, and resolve tier 1 and tier 2 equipment and system problems.
  • Perform extended TDYs in dangerous or hostile environments.
  • Work at heights and complete Fall Protection training.

Requirements

  • Six or more years of direct experience with Sponsor tactical communications projects and design.
  • Up to 50% OCONUS travel (including hazard areas) and 10% CONUS travel, based on customer needs.
  • Occasional travel within the Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA).
  • Must be medically and administratively cleared for travel.
  • Must qualify for weapons training (certification not required but candidate must be willing and capable).
  • Tower Climbing Certification.
  • Achieve Level 1 Sponsor Certification within one year of start date.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of six years of experience, or eight years of experience in lieu of a degree (totaling fourteen years).
  • TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph on day one, eligible for crossover.
  • Solid understanding of tactical systems and procurement processes.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of policies and regulations related to assigned work.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-solving for tier 1 and tier 2 equipment and system issues.
  • Ability to excel in high-risk or physically demanding environments.

Pay

Salary range: $122,000–$253,000, commensurate with qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated expertise.
