Radiation Therapy Manager
Location: St. Vincent’s Medical Center (Fairfield, CT) – new 25,000 sq-ft cancer center at 4185 Black Rock Turnpike near the Merritt Parkway. Shift: Monday–Friday.
About the role
The Radiation Oncology Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Radiation Oncology department at Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute, the first U.S. Care Partner of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. You will lead a collaborative interdisciplinary team of Radiation Therapists, Nurses, and Administrative staff to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care aligned with the hospital’s and Cancer Institute’s strategic goals. The role includes modeling efficient operations, resolving workflow challenges, driving innovation, and supporting Lean Daily Management initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee department operations, including staff scheduling, work assignments, and problem resolution.
- Implement and monitor departmental goals that align with organizational strategy, ensuring timely achievement.
- Set individual performance expectations, coach staff, and contribute to performance evaluations.
- Support the Director in Lean Daily Management and recommend process improvements.
- Collect and analyze data to track progress and drive operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management or a related field.
- Five years of clinical experience in Radiation Oncology.
- Five years of supervisory or management experience.
- Valid Connecticut State Radiographer’s License.
- ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy.
Skills
- Experience with GE CT Sim, Varian Novalis Tx, Varian True Beam, Nucletron HDR, and Varian Ethos with adaptive planning strongly preferred.
