About the role
The START Center for Cancer Care has a premier Radiation Department and is pioneering premier Cancer Care for patients with leading doctors, advanced diagnostics, and cutting-edge therapies. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed doses of radiation to patients using specialized equipment.
- Position patients accurately to ensure effective and safe treatment.
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy machines, ensuring functionality and safety compliance.
- Monitor patients during treatments and report any adverse reactions or concerns to the medical team.
- Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.
- Collaborate with oncologists, medical physicists, Dosimetrists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and modify treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatment sessions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and radiation protection guidelines to minimize exposure risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field.
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or an equivalent credential.
- State licensure (if required by the state).
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide emotional support to patients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with attention to detail.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Prior experience in a clinical radiation therapy setting.
- Familiarity with different types of radiation therapy techniques, such as IMRT, SBRT, and brachytherapy.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Work Environment & Conditions
Outpatient Radiation Services are administered weekdays only. The role requires standing for extended periods and assisting patients with mobility needs. Regular exposure to radiation requires adherence to strict safety protocols.

Pay
Positions start at $85,000 - $120,000, depending on experience. We also offer discretionary company bonuses and a department bonus structure.
