Travel assignment for a Radiation Therapist at Merit Health Central in Jackson, Mississippi. 10-week engagement starting immediately.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join the team for a consistent daytime schedule in a dynamic hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical experience, excellent patient-care skills, and hands-on expertise with Varian radiation therapy equipment and ARIA EMR.
Responsibilities
- Deliver radiation treatments safely and accurately according to physician-prescribed treatment plans.
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment in accordance with established protocols.
- Utilize Varian equipment and ARIA EMR effectively.
- Verify patient identity, treatment plans, positioning, and treatment parameters prior to therapy.
- Provide compassionate support and education to patients throughout their treatment.
- Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, physicists, nurses, and other members of the oncology team.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Follow all radiation safety, quality assurance, and infection-control standards.
- Monitor patients throughout treatment and promptly communicate any concerns or changes in condition.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Radiation Therapist experience
- ARRT(T) certification required
- BLS required
- Mississippi State License – may be obtained once the position is offered
- Recent experience with Varian equipment
- Experience with ARIA EMR
- Cerner experience is a plus
- Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler
- Strong clinical, communication, and patient-care skills
- All requirements must be met at the time of submission
Pay
$98/hour for 40 hours per week.
Schedule
- 10-week assignment
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Start date: ASAP
