About the role
This PRN position is located in Lebanon, NH, and involves treating patients with the various modalities available in Radiation Oncology.
Responsibilities
- Counsel, schedule, and maintain detailed records on patient treatment.
- Treat patients using various treatment modalities and machines, adhering to current protocols.
- Observe and question patients about their response to treatment.
- Screen, counsel, or direct physical and emotional problems to the Radiation Oncologist and/or nurse.
- Direct patients to the nurse for weekly evaluation.
- Prepare daily schedules for assigned treatment machines; verify accuracy of new patient data and ensure all accessories are prepared.
- Present field verification films to the MD to verify set-up and adjust fields as directed.
- Document and follow through on changes and re-film.
- Maintain patient treatment records, prepare dose calculations, and ensure awareness of dose limits.
- Submit billing for daily patient treatments and review for accuracy.
- Participate in ongoing Quality Assurance by reviewing charts and films of patients on treatment.
- Schedule research time and teach set-up for various treatment machines to DMS students.
- Maintain and supply assigned treatment rooms.
- Oversee the technical training of radiation therapy students for affiliate sites and act as a technical resource.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned, including travel to other clinic locations based on coverage needs.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Radiation Therapy (2-year academic and affiliation program) required.
- ARRT Radiologic Technologist - Radiation Therapy (RT-T) certification within three months of hire date.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
