Shift Description
- Warms up and performs QA tests on simulator, CT, BAT, and treatment equipment following established procedures prior to daily use.
- Reports any deviation to the physicist.
- Uses radiation detection equipment in a safe and careful manner.
- Inspects ancillary devices prior to use and reports any problems to the appropriate person.
- Verifies functioning of the radiation detectors.
- Checks blocks for proper orientation and accuracy before filming.
- Performs weekly QA on simulator and treatment equipment following established procedures.
- Assists in maintenance of the dark room and reports any problems for corrections.
- Maintains accurate records of all equipment service, function, and maintenance.
- Performs microdosimetry within the first three treatments and verifies calculation and agreement prior to the fourth treatment.
- Participates in the department performance improvement program.
- Maintains a high level of patient care and safety at all times.
Requirements
- Graduation from an AMA-accredited school of Radiation Therapy is required.
- Knowledge of principles, techniques, and methodology of radiation therapy is required.
- Behavior and personality conducive to working with cancer patients is necessary.
Qualifications
- Current State of Florida License as a Certified Radiology Technologist (CRT) ARRT (T) or eligible.
- Current BLS Certification required.
