Radiation Therapist II - PRN FLOAT
Overview
Sentara is hiring an experienced Radiation Therapist II at Princess Anne Hospital, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Shift: PRN, FLOAT. This position will provide support to our Hampton Roads Hospitals including:
- Sentara Princess Anne Hospital
- Sentara Virginia Beach General
- Sentara Brock Cancer Center
- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital
- Sentara Obici Hospital
- Sentara Careplex Hospital
- Sentara Albemarle Medical Center
Duties
Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Deliver external beam radiotherapy to include (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT)
- Deliver brachytherapy treatment
- Perform patient simulations; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices
- Reviewing patient records for accuracy
- Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel
- Maintaining patient records, reports, and files
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience and must meet 4 of the following criteria and have passed associated competencies to move from Radiation Therapist I:
- Pediatric Center: Age based competencies
- EBRT/Sim Clinical Coordinator-RTT Students: Preceptor/clinical coord
- Comp SRS/SBRT: General SRS/SBRT Comps
- Simulation Tech: General Sim Comp, IV Start Comp
- Treatment Competencies: General EBRT Comp
- Advanced Imaging: Identify/Vision RT/iCBCT/Gated CBCT/4D CBCT
- Brachy Therapist: General Brachy Comp
- Second Licensure (CT, MRI, R): Proof of second licensure
- Completion of an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of Associates degree will also be considered.
