Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and team members.
- Promote a positive, supportive, and team-oriented work environment.
- Deliver radiation therapy sessions accurately as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
- Perform simulations, select positioning aids, and fabricate immobilization devices.
- Monitor and assess patient condition and treatment side effects daily.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and expectations.
- Follow strict safety, infection control, and radiation protection protocols.
- Perform machine warm-ups, operation checks, and documentation as required.
- Complete accurate procedure documentation and validate charges.
- Use resources efficiently and manage time effectively.
- Participate in professional development, in-service programs, and continuing education.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved radiation therapy education program.
- Licenses/Certifications Required: CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (State License), ARRT - Radiation Therapy (T) certification, BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA).
- New graduates must obtain ARRT (T) within 3 months.
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to use Radiation Oncology Information Systems and basic office software.
- Strong teamwork, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
