About the role

The role involves delivering therapeutic radiation under the direction of the radiation oncologist. Responsibilities include providing quality technical care to patients, participating in screening patient needs, student education, and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Delivers therapeutic radiation under the direction of the radiation oncologist.
• Provides quality technical care to patients as part of the radiation therapy team.
• Participates in screening patient needs.
• Participates in student education.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.

Requirements

• Graduate of a CAHEA approved Radiation Therapy Technology Program or the equivalent.
• Currently registered or registry eligible with the ARRT in Radiation Therapy Technology.
• CPR required.
• Knowledge of geriatric patient care.
• Interpersonal relations include other employees, physicians, patients and families, and other health care professionals.
• Ability to organize and react in a high stress environment.

Qualifications

Knowledgeable about the latest radiation therapy techniques such as 3D conformal and electron therapy, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, SRS, VMAT, SGRT, and their applications.

Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric patient care.
• Interpersonal relations including other employees, physicians, patients, and families.
• Ability to operate technical and office equipment.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
