Responsibilities
- Serving as the Business Manager for the Radiation Oncology service line, including practice management responsibility for several oncology clinics
- Developing measureable objectives and monitoring program growth, patient care and satisfaction
- Staffing, employee development, physician relations, interdepartmental relations and adherence to regulatory requirements for radiation oncology
- Providing support to the system level Oncology Service Line, and managing the Oncology budget
- Collaborating with all clinical leadership at both at the Network and facility levels to include free-standing and hospital sites on program marketing, business development, strategic planning, and oncology outreach initiatives.
- Conducting regular management team meetings. Providing all support needed for department leaders to perform their jobs.
- Conducting annual job evaluations for team leaders and direct reports.
- Meting all Workforce Metrics, Productivity, Financial, and Departmental goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- Five to seven years radiation oncology management experience
- Previous related experience in dealing with complex financial and management issues in a multidisciplinary clinical environment
- High level of analytical skills necessary to develop and implement new systems, techniques, and/or procedures
- ARRT certification
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited radiation therapy program required; Master’s preferred
- Must be willing to travel between sites as required
Physical Demands
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires the ability to bend, stoop, twist; assist patients in moving; assist patients in arising from exam table or bed; push wheelchair patients; assist patients in arising from and returning to wheelchair.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Work Environment
- Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
