Radiation Physicist
Overview

Minimum Pay and Sign-On Bonus
The minimum pay for this position is $95.99/hour. The actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. This is a Salaried position. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is eligible after 1 year of employment.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will join a team of eight medical physicists, eight dosimetrists, 14 radiation oncologists, and other supporting staff. Responsibilities will include providing physics services for proton beam therapy, X-Ray and electron beam therapy, HDR brachytherapy, simulation imaging, optical surface monitoring, respiratory motion management, treatment planning, commissioning and acceptance, and routine quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Provide physics services for proton beam therapy (training and education provided)
- Perform X-Ray and electron beam therapy
- Perform HDR brachytherapy
- Perform simulation imaging
- Perform optical surface monitoring
- Manage respiratory motion management
- Perform treatment planning
- Commission and accept treatment plans
- Conduct routine quality assurance
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Medical Physics
- One year of work experience in Radiation Oncology clinical procedures, including 3-D conformal planning, IMRT, machine QA, and calibration of radiation therapy/radiologic equipment
- Analytic skills necessary to solve technical problems related to equipment failure, quality assurance processes, radiation dose administration, contamination, and the like
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective patient care to adult and geriatric patient population
- Certified by the American Board of Radiology Therapeutic Physics or the American Board of Medical Physics or successful completion of certification within one year of eligibility
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. degree in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP accredited program
- Three years of work experience in Radiation Oncology procedures including HDR and I-131 administration in addition to requirements listed above
