Job Summary
The clinical physicist in Radiation Oncology is responsible for specifying and acquiring all radiation generating equipment, calibrating the treatment machines, and maintaining dosimetry and health-physics equipment. They also review OSU radiation treatment charts and instruct personnel on radiation therapy physics, dosimetry, and radiation protection.
Required Qualifications
- M.S. degree with a math and physics concentration, preferably in Medical Physics
- Specialization in clinical radiation, therapeutic physics
- Extensive progressively responsible experience in Radiation Oncology, Clinical Physics, and Radiation Therapy
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience, either through previous work experience or clinical Radiation Oncology Residency
- ABR eligible at a minimum. Expected to obtain ABR certification within 3 years of hire
