About the role

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for various radiotherapy and hyperthermia treatment procedures at a technical level. Responsibilities include setting up patients for treatment, following through on specific treatments, documenting treatment performed, and working with department staff for maximum efficiency of services.

  • May be required to work at other campuses as assigned following Union guidelines for scheduling

Requirements

  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Therapeutic Radiology
  • Licensure by the state of California in Therapeutic Radiology
  • Experience with the use of Megavoltage, supervoltage, and orthovoltage machines
  • Knowledge of Simulation procedures, IORT, Radioactive implants, HDR, Brachytherapy and Hyperthermia procedures
  • Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy school
  • Licensure by the state of California in therapeutic radiology and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in therapeutic radiology
  • Ability to act independently and exercise appropriate independent judgment regarding set-up or treatment decisions
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a variety of people
  • Positive attitude toward teamwork concept essential

Pay

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
