Job Responsibilities
- Affords assistance in coordinating Physics and Dosimetry staffing for the Baptist Cancer Centers across the Metro market, considering disease-specific patient needs to ensure timely and appropriate care.
- Assists in cross-training all Physics/Dosimetry staff to enhance depth and redundancy in complex services such as IORT, TBI, CyberKnife® across the Metro market.
- Participates in the development of protocols for patient care to ensure evidence-based care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Supports the Baptist GME program by contributing to the clinical education of Radiology residents as it relates to Radiation Oncology.
- Coordinates treatment planning processes and other procedures as needed.
- Oversees quality control measures.
- Collates and documents all aspects of physics services.
- Engages in performance improvement and radiation safety activities.
- Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the department.
- Completes assigned goals.
- Performs other accountabilities as assigned or directed.
Specifications
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in a progressive radiation oncology department, with academic experience and/or a CAMPEP-accredited residency being preferred.
- Education: Minimum Master's Level - Board Certified in therapeutic medical physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
Qualifications
- Experience with HDR and advanced IMRT applications for treatment as well as stereotactic treatment delivery is preferred.
