Job Responsibilities

  • Affords assistance in coordinating Physics and Dosimetry staffing for the Baptist Cancer Centers across the Metro market, considering disease-specific patient needs to ensure timely and appropriate care.
  • Assists in cross-training all Physics/Dosimetry staff to enhance depth and redundancy in complex services such as IORT, TBI, CyberKnife® across the Metro market.
  • Participates in the development of protocols for patient care to ensure evidence-based care and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Supports the Baptist GME program by contributing to the clinical education of Radiology residents as it relates to Radiation Oncology.
  • Coordinates treatment planning processes and other procedures as needed.
  • Oversees quality control measures.
  • Collates and documents all aspects of physics services.
  • Engages in performance improvement and radiation safety activities.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the department.
  • Completes assigned goals.
  • Performs other accountabilities as assigned or directed.

Specifications

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in a progressive radiation oncology department, with academic experience and/or a CAMPEP-accredited residency being preferred.
  • Education: Minimum Master's Level - Board Certified in therapeutic medical physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).

Qualifications

  • Experience with HDR and advanced IMRT applications for treatment as well as stereotactic treatment delivery is preferred.
