Radiation Oncologist, Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Radiation Oncology

About the role

Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor position in Radiation Oncology focusing on genitourinary cancer care, education of trainees, and clinical/basic research. The position is tenure/non-tenure track and FLSA exempt (not eligible for overtime). Anticipated start date is as soon as possible. Stony Brook Medicine is Long Island's premier academic medical center, integrating education, research, and patient care across Stony Brook University Hospital, Stony Brook Children's Hospital, the five Health Sciences schools (Dental Medicine, Health Professions, Medicine, Nursing, and Social Welfare), major centers and institutes, and over 50 community‑based healthcare settings in Suffolk County. The hospital has 624 beds and serves as Suffolk County's only tertiary care center and Regional Trauma Center; Stony Brook Children's offers over 180 pediatric specialists in 30 specialties. Responsibilities

• Provide radiation oncology care for genitourinary cancer patients.
• Participate in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Conduct clinical translational research and/or basic bench research.

Requirements

• MD degree (or foreign equivalent).
• Eligibility for New York State Licensure.
• Completion of an accredited Radiation Oncology Residency.
• Board certified or board eligible in Radiation Oncology.
• Strong interest in an academic career with clinical, translational, or basic research.
• Must successfully clear a background investigation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in clinical care of GI, GU, and/or women's cancer.
• Interest or experience in community care, clinical research, and theranostics.
• Education experience.
• Specific GU experience including interstitial brachytherapy, SpaceOAR injection, and theranostics.
