Job Summary

Provides patient care, skilled nursing assessment, and evaluation for patients receiving radiation oncology services. Performs patient triage and prepares medical records and charts for the Radiation Oncologist and clinic staff to support efficient, high-quality patient care.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist the physician with daily clinic visits and triage/assess patients before provider appointments.
  • Conduct skilled nursing assessments to evaluate patients' physical and emotional status and communicate findings to the physician.
  • Triage patient calls and inquiries, communicate concerns to the physician, and implement physician orders or protocol-based interventions as appropriate.
  • Delegate assignments to support staff and provide oversight and guidance as needed.
  • Cook up patient treatments, follow-up appointments, and ongoing care to ensure timely and appropriate scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
  • 1 to 3 years of oncology experience preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment while delivering compassionate patient care.
