Rad Technologist/MS Pool/On-Call/UKHC
Job Summary
The Radiology Technologist (X-Ray Technologist – Per Diem Pool) will provide diagnostic imaging for patients to assist the patient’s physician in expediting needed care. Job duties include performing or assisting in procedures per department protocols; maintaining a clean and safe work environment; utilizing proper procedures for identifying images, patients and marking images correctly for interpretation; and ordering exams that match the procedures being performed.
Per diem pay is as follows: Level I – 96 hours any shift / 6-week schedule = $35/hour
Level II – 144 hours any shift / 6-week schedule = $43/hour
Level III – 216 hours any shift / 6-week week schedule = $51/hour
Level IV – 216 hours on nights / 6-week schedule = $59/hour
Physical Requirements
This position requires regularly lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; working in confined spaces; occasionally sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing). Also involves some risk of injury from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, recombinant DNA or viral vectors, and combative/violent people.
Shift
Shift opportunities will be discussed during the interview process. Depending on level, employees must work a minimum of 96 to 216 hours in a 6-week period.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification or eligibility to obtain certification within 90 days of hire
- Kentucky Radiation Operator’s License by date of hire
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of hire
