About the role

Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist / X-Ray Technologist for a permanent role with an area outpatient healthcare client in Falls Church, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Perform x-rays in accordance with medical provider orders and forward images to the radiologist for over-reads.
  • Maintain x-ray equipment and adhere to radiation safety standards.
  • Clean, stock, and sterilize equipment and prepare patient rooms for care delivery.
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Escort patients to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions, and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed.
  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety, and comfort during imaging.
  • Complete administrative duties including labeling, processing films, and maintaining procedure logs.
  • Enter clinical information accurately into the electronic medical record.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to the Practice Administrator.
  • Provide backup support for the clinical team by controlling patient flow, performing EKG tests, obtaining blood pressure measurements, documenting vital signs in the EMR, and administering injectables as needed.
  • Support medical providers in patient examination, testing, and education.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent and completion of an approved Limited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • ARRT certification.
  • State licensure in Virginia and/or applicable licensure for Maryland or DC as required by the position.
  • CPR for Healthcare Providers certification (BLS acceptable).
  • Minimum 1 year of radiologic technologist experience.
  • Experience performing lower extremity X-ray and CT preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
