Rad Tech to CT Tech Certification Program – Full-Time Paid Learning

Job Description

16 week Cross training Program
40 hrs week
Mondays 8am - 4:30pm / Tuesdays - Fridays
Rotate between 7am - 3:30pm and 3:30pm 12am during cross training program
After training is successfully completed, candidate will be moved to either a Part time Day or Night role at new Midlothian Emergency Center and be eligible to sit for CT Registry.

Responsibilities

  • Patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained.
  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
  • Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
  • Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
  • Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
  • Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.
  • Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Grad or Equiv [Required], Associate [Preferred], Bachelor's [Preferred]
  • Work Experience: 1+ years of experience in radiology and completion of CT training program. [Required]
  • Licenses And Certifications: Registered Technologist – Radiography RT(R)(ARRT) [Required], Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) with Texas Medical Board (TMB) - [Required], Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
