Job Summary
To participate in patient care ensuring that all duties assigned are done in an efficient and professional manner.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Help patients’ with their needs and concerns.
- Ensure patient’s safety and comfort.
- Auxiliary in transporting patients.
- Respect the confidentiality of patient, center and physician related information.
- Monitor pertinent changes in symptoms of patients’ condition and take appropriate action; report to physician or charge nurse.
- Prepare patients prior to procedure by disinfecting area intended for surgical procedure using sterile technique.
- Absorb all cases at the scheduled time.
- Maintain sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Accelerate room turnover.
- Remove linens and trash to appropriate disposal area.
- Clean bed, tables and other soiled areas between cases.
- Terminate cleaning and restocking Operating Room.
- Accurately count each instrument 100% of the time during large procedures.
- Scrub/assist in surgery.
- Anticipate the needs of team members in the OR.
- Perform C-Arm fluoroscopy assisted exams.
- Regularly inspect equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
- Initiate requisitions for repair of equipment, when needed.
- Aid in training new personnel.
- Manage inventory.
- Perform all other assigned job duties by charge nurse, administrator or providers.
Education/Experience/Skills/Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of a certified surgical technology program or sufficient in-house training, as determined by R.A.
- Current BLS and other required training
- Knowledgeable of equipment, instrumentation and supplies
- Working knowledge of eClinical
- Strong customer service skills
- Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients and others
- Ability to work independently with detail and accuracy
- Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form

- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
