About the Role

The Rad Tech I is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform procedures for a specified patient population. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values. This role contributes to the mission of caring for the community by delivering compassionate, high-quality radiologic services with a focus on excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Performs quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.
  • Effectively manages resources such as supplies and equipment.
  • Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Demonstrates professional work behavior and excellent customer service in all interactions.
  • Occasionally demonstrates job responsibilities to other Associates and instructs student technologists.

Requirements

  • Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology (Required).
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Required).
  • Basic Life Support certification - American Heart Association (Required).
  • Basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures.
  • Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred).

  • Proficiency in operating imaging equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage resources efficiently.
  • Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety.

Physical Demands

  • Medium work: exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
  • Physical activities include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Good balance and coordination required.
  • Close visual acuity, including color, depth perception, and field of vision, for tasks such as assessing patients, preparing data, and operating computer terminals.
  • Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
  • Exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous or poisonous materials.
  • Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
