About the Role

Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency to assist in performing ERCP's, video fluoroscopies, all OR procedures, lumbar punctures, bronchoscopies, enterocolitis, sialo grams, rhizotomy, facet blocks, endoscopy-tube placements or injections, t-tube cholangiogram, major trauma/trauma bay, neo-natal ICU, and pacing lab.
- Performs all critical care procedures.
- Demonstrates competency in arthrograms, myelograms, venograms, minor trauma, and troubleshooting complex studies.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems.
- Obtains nursing assessment when nursing is unavailable and assesses patient’s condition and level of cooperation to make appropriate care judgments.
- Notifies nurse and documents all infiltrates and reactions.
- Performs quality checks on images before sending to radiologist, ensuring markers and all pertinent information are included for appropriate dictation.
- Documents additional information in PACS or EPIC as needed before marking ready to read.
- Restarts, programs, and releases air from patient IVACs.
- Responds to codes and other emergency situations appropriately.
- Stays updated on organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes by checking email each shift.
- Performs other duties as assigned to promote patient care and safety within the department.
- Ensures smooth workflow of patient flow and proper care and use of equipment and materials.
- Works within the department to maintain good employee, physician, and supervisor relationships.
- Assists staff technologists in areas of need due to shortages, FMLA, PTO, and sick time.
- Informs patients and families of delays, including directing to the ER if a procedure is delayed more than 30 minutes.
- Charges procedures and supplies upon exam completion and adds surgical charges when needed.
- Operates the PACS system appropriately and verifies studies before sending to archive.
- Achieves patient satisfaction targets as measured by the annual evaluation from the Patient Satisfaction scorecard.
- Adheres to the Behavior Essentials set by Prisma Health's patient experience teams.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited radiology program.
- ARRT Registered.
- SCRQSA certification (required for team members working in South Carolina).
- CPR certification.
Skills

- Experience with PACS and EMR systems.
This is a non-management role that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
