Responsibilities
- Transports patients and related items safely, efficiently, and on time throughout the facility.
- Assists Radiologists and Technologists in exams and procedures across Radiology modalities.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Communicates professionally with staff, patients, and visitors.
- Functions independently and as a team member, often receiving direction by phone.
- Keeps work area clean, organized, and stocked; stores equipment and supplies properly.
- Requires full use of arms, hands, repetitive foot motion, overhead reaching, and trunk rotation.
- Involves continuous walking and movement.
- Works varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Performs additional duties as assigned, including:
- Assisting in invasive and non-invasive procedures
- Removing IVs
- Preparing sterile trays
- Handling, transferring, and transporting specimens
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or G.E.D Equivalent.
- Previous hospital, clinical, or patient care experience preferred.
- Requires excellent communication skills, telephone and human relation skills to interact with patients, guests and staff.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Must be able to multitask and adapt to unpredictable situations.
- Must be able to complete the Mayo Clinic's New Employee Orientation and General Systems Training.
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and lift more than 50 pounds with assistance.
- Physically able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
- Requires upper and lower physical strength to manage the pushing and pulling of stretchers with and without patients occupying them.
License or Certification
- Successful completion of a BLS course within the first 6 months of employment.
- Completion of the Communications in Healthcare class within the first year of employment.

- Monday: 5pm - 9pm
- Thursday: 5pm - 9pm
- Saturday: 8am - 8:30pm
