Racquet Sports Professional
Stratton Mountain Resort in Stratton Mountain, Vermont is seeking a driven Part-Time or Full-Time Racquets Professional to join the Cliff Drysdale Tennis School. The ideal candidate will contribute to a global leader in tennis, golf, and community management, starting in time for the indoor winter program and ready for a busy on-court season.
About the Role
Provides the ultimate experience by delivering high-quality Racquet Sports (Tennis, Pickleball, Padel) instruction and customer service programming for both our extensive outdoor summer program and indoor winter program during the ski season. As part of the Cliff Drysdale Tennis family, there is potential for travel to partner clubs nationwide for team events, supplementing work hours during quieter seasons (spring and fall). The summer season is the busiest period, with additional seasonal professionals joining the team to support operational demands.
Responsibilities
- Provides beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels of players.
- Assists in the promotion and conducting of Racquet Sports clinics, private lessons, special events, and programs to attract and maintain members’/guests’ interests.
- Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive Racquet Sports lessons and programs to encourage continued involvement.
- Assists with running Special Events throughout the year, including teaching summer camps during the summer season.
- Supervises play and ensures proper charging of fees.
- Ensures students understand all Racquet Sports rules, scoring procedures, safety rules, and etiquette.
- Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the facility, equipment, and property.
- Performs racquet stringing and court maintenance.
- Responds quickly and efficiently to member/guest questions, comments, and concerns.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude through courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity, and professionalism.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- USTA NetGeneration Certification required as a condition of employment. Register at USTA NetGeneration.
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching Racquet Sports lessons to adults and juniors of various levels.
- Skill level equivalent to a minimum 4.0 USTA rating.
- Current driver’s license and personal vehicle for transportation to and from work.
- Willingness to travel 45% year-round.
Skills
- Ability to read and speak English to communicate with customers and co-workers.
- Retail sales experience preferred.
- Computer proficiency, including POS, Microsoft Office applications, social media, and tennis-related programs such as tennisdirector.com or Club Automation.
Physical Demands
- Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, talks, hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Occasionally sits.
- Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions with moderate noise levels.
Pay
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour, depending on experience.
