About the role

Assumes responsibility for maintenance of the racetrack and racing grounds. Greets and interacts with guests in a friendly, courteous, responsive, and accurate manner. Maintains the appearance of the track to required standards, including plants, trees, and shrubs, and applies chemicals as needed under supervision.

• Operates a variety of vehicles, machinery, and equipment, including tractors, pickup trucks, and maintenance tools.
• Performs grounds maintenance duties such as weed treatment, painting, trash collection, and operating irrigation systems.
• Performs preventative maintenance and cares for all light and heavy equipment.
• Notifies management of any suspicious or unusual activity in a timely manner.
• Attends professional meetings and stays aware of new trends in track and grounds maintenance.
• Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• High school diploma and some grounds/maintenance experience.
• Must maintain an Ohio Racing Commission license.
• Able to read, write, understand, and speak English.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
• Able to respond to visual and oral cues.
• Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environments.
