Part-time role assisting the International Enrollment Center (IEC) with promoting Colorado State University to prospective international students across various channels. This position joins the International Ambassador team within the Marketing and Communications office of the IEC.
About the role
The ideal candidate will work with the IEC Marketing/Communications Manager and fellow ambassador(s) to develop creative, engaging, and dynamic content for social media that shares the CSU international student experience with prospective students to encourage their interest in CSU.
Anticipated start date: August 18, 2026. Hours: 10–15 per week.
Responsibilities
- Create original video and photo content for social media and other communication platforms to help promote CSU to prospective international students.
- Edit videos, descriptions, and captions for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and other social media channels.
- Find stories within the international and domestic student community at CSU to share with current/prospective students.
- Help manage the social/editorial calendar to maximize time and messaging to drive interest and engagement.
- Monitor and respond to student messages on IEC WhatsApp, WeChat, and Campus Community Platforms.
- Work together with other IEC Ambassadors and students in other units (IEC, ISSS, OIP) to leverage each other’s skills and accomplish goals.
- Understand the international admissions process and resources available at CSU/the International Enrollment Center.
- Occasionally attend campus events and programs in order to create content.
Requirements
- Experience shooting and editing video and photo content for social media, along with knowledge of editing software (iMovie, Adobe Premiere, etc.).
- Graphic design skills and familiarity with platforms such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator/InDesign, etc.
- Strong writing, grammar, and communication skills.
- Willingness to create and be present in social media content, including video and audio.
- Knowledge of social media platforms, strategies, and trends.
- Professional, punctual, and responsive, with the ability to set and stick to a weekly working schedule.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with the ability to develop new ideas and solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- International experience and/or a willingness to foster the engagement of international students through use of social media platforms.
- Ability or willingness to conduct interviews with current students, staff members, faculty, and other community members.
- Knowledge of Chinese social media landscape, with applicable language/cultural skills to create content for WeChat and other social media apps.
