R.N. II Emergency - Full Time - 3pm Shift - 12hr ICH
About the role
The Emergency Services (ES) Registered Nurse (RN) at Emanate Health is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients with various physical or psychosocial problems. This role requires minimal care of life support measures, patient and significant other education, appropriate referrals, and understanding of legal implications. Patients may range from neonatal to geriatric, with problems of varying complexity.
Responsibilities
- Achieve minimum education requirements including 4 hours of BRN-approved pediatric education within 6 months of hire and annually thereafter.
- Complete a Two-day approved EDAP/ENPC course every 4 years (for QVH only).
- Satisfactorily complete the Emanate Health R.N. New Grad Program if newly graduated, re-entry, or new to the U.S. healthcare system.
- Have one year of clinical experience preferred, especially in emergency or critical care.
- Complete the Basic ER Nursing Course within 6 months of hire.
- Display excellent customer service skills.
- Hold a current RN license in California and BLS certification.
- Obtain ACLS and PALS certifications within 3 months of hire.
- Complete Assaultive Behavior Training Certification meeting AB508 and SB1299 requirements within 30 days of hire/transfer.
- New hires completing Assaultive Behavior training outside of Emanate Health must complete the Work Place Violence online awareness module within 30 days of hire/transfer.
- Possess CEN certification preferred.
- Pass NIH Stroke Scale Certification "A" within 3 months of hire/transfer for QVH positions.
- Achieve annual 8 hours of Stroke Education for QVH positions.
- Be available to work every other weekend.

For those with no prior emergency room experience, the Basic ER Nursing Course is to be completed within 6 months of hire.
Minimum License Requirement: Current RN license in the State of California. BLS certification required. ACLS and PALS Certification required within 3 months of hire. Assaultive Behavior Training Certification that meets AB508 and SB1299 required within 30 days of hire/transfer. New hires that have completed Assaultive Behavior training outside of Emanate Health will be required to complete Emanate Health Work Place Violence online awareness module within 30 days of hire/transfer. CEN preferred.
