R&D Testing & Lab Specialist

Responsibilities

• Prototyping and testing electrical distribution products.
• Material handling, assembly, and instrumentation of large and medium sized switch gear.
• Temperature rise testing, dielectric testing, environmental testing, and endurance testing.
• Material handling and coordination for test projects.
• Assembly and modifications of test objects.
• Safely execute high voltage and high current testing.
• Understand and verify test results.
• Identify and help create new test equipment and fixtures to improve efficiency of testing.
• Maintain existing test equipment.

Requirements

• 2-year degree in electrical/electronic technology or equivalent experience.
• 0‑2 years of experience in electrical engineering and/or testing environment.
• Experience and understanding of electrical systems and electrical safety.
• Experience with meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, test, and data acquisition systems.
• Experience with low voltage and medium voltage switchgear.
• Position requires domestic and international travel.
• Position is in the R&D department of Electrification, Distribution Solutions based in Mebane, NC, USA.
