About the role

We are seeking self-motivated individuals to join our dynamic team at 80 Acres Farms. Our mission is to revolutionize the way the world eats by producing pesticide-free, sustainable produce in state-of-the-art vertical farms. Our products are sold in over 17,000 retail locations and distributed to food service partners year-round.

Responsibilities

• Seed & harvest leafy greens, tomatoes, and herbs on commercial scale
• Perform basic crop maintenance, such as pruning
• Collect and document data for traceability and inventory accuracy
• Operate machinery including scissor lift, automated seeder, and automated harvester
• Sanitize farm materials and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Manage priva scheduling and maintain pH and EC sensors
• Create lighting programs for crop specialists
• Execute planned trials and data events
• Communicate and collaborate with the lead crop specialist, operations manager, and other technicians
• Participate in trial results presentations
• Maintain NCD sensors in grow zones
• Supervise day-to-day operations of research trials
• Plant care includes: irrigation scheduling, mixing fertilizer, pollination, harvesting, pruning, seeding, transplanting, pest monitoring, etc.
• Maintain seed inventory for crop programs
• Meet with the Lead Crop Specialist to discuss future trial plans

Requirements

• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to operate machinery, use a ladder, and lift 50 lbs
• Agriculture, science, and/or production background (optional but preferred)
• Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and evolving processes
• Detail-oriented and quality-focused

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in agriculture, horticulture, or related field
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Ability to work weekends as needed

Skills

• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Basic computer skills
• Physical stamina and ability to lift 50 lbs
