Job Description

Crowe’s dynamic and entrepreneurial Federal Tax Consulting Services (FTCS) practice incorporates cutting-edge technology into an innovative, team-based approach to deliver specialized federal tax consulting to clients ranging from middle-market companies to the Fortune 500. The group is currently searching for a Senior Associate to support projects in the areas of federal credits, including research and development (“R&D”) tax credits.

Responsibilities

  • Execute project work plans, including reviewing data and supporting documentation for R&D tax credits under IRC Sections 41 and 174
  • Aid in leading technical interviews with client personnel, such as scientists and engineers, to gather key project details
  • Prepare and review appropriate quantitative and qualitative documentation to support project results using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Alteryx
  • Aid in leading client meetings and internal team discussions to communicate project progress and findings
  • Support client relationships by delivering exceptional client service and fostering collaboration with stakeholders
  • Mentor and train associates through on-the-job technical guidance and coaching, helping them build foundational skills in tax consulting and technology
  • Show strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a focus on innovative and efficient solutions
  • Collaborate with managers and senior leadership to manage risk, execute reviews, and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing R&D Tax Credit and Section 174 studies required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Engineering; MST (Master of Science in Taxation) is a plus
  • CPA, EA, PE or JD preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in the subject matter areas described above is preferred
