Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Performs general housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the small wafer-specific laboratory and inventory areas (cleanroom)
- Includes hands-on cleaning and maintenance, ordering lab supplies (spares, wafer inventory, general supplies), facilities upkeep and installations, and organization and interpersonal skills to coordinate with other departments
- Prepares documentation for procedures, processes, and best-known-methods including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentation as these things are developed
- Keeps a neat and orderly record of all work done. Maintain data and records as necessary
- Executes plan disseminated from Process Manager and Engineers to run experiments on a tool
- Able to operate atomic layer deposition (ALD) production tool and troubleshoot basic software and hardware issues
- Helps to sustain production operations on wafer ALD tools to ensure high equipment availability and product quality by:
- Aids with the basic daily tasks of keeping tools running, including support loading/unloading reactors, monitoring automated processes, refreshing process chemicals and supplies, cleaning and packaging wafers/samples, cleaning systems components and work areas
- Supports maintenance program through continued development and execution of preventive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and performing periodic systems checks
- Performs basic quality control or process diagnostics and charting the results
- Maintains a safe work environment and staying OSHA compliant with relevant safety training
Required Education And Experience
- AS in physics, chemistry, materials, or equivalent engineering fields or 1+ year fab experience
- 1 year hand-on/laboratory experience
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Self-driven problem-solving skills
- Team collaboration and communication skills
- Wafer handling experience
- Vacuum equipment experience a plus
- Experience in an industrial company that conducted materials development and advanced materials manufacturing a plus
Work Environment
- This is not a remote job.
- Work is carried out onsite in a research and development laboratory.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee handles hazardous chemicals in the laboratory.
- The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, lab coat, and in the plant, a hard hat.
- An employee in this position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention.
- Strict adherence to corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required.
