R&D NIL Stamp Engineer

About the Role

The R&D NIL Stamp Engineer is responsible for NIL master treatment, storage and care, as well as all aspects of the NIL stamp making process including characterization and control of critical success factors, troubleshooting, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Become the resident expert at stamp making.
• Build systems to track and monitor stamp making data and process controls.
• Own equipment servicing and work with maintenance to set up and optimize PM schedules.
• Create a stamp making traveler or equivalent and make tracking available to those waiting for stamps.
• Establish a locked-down process including inventory and control of all chemicals and equipment.
• Determine and specify chemicals needed and the qualified versions that are production released.
• Document tool recipes.
• Troubleshoot and permanently resolve all stamp issues.
• Set up a stamp quality check system and provide feedback to evaluate the performance of each stamp made to drive and monitor progress on improvements.
• Work closely with the NIL tool vendor to build off their best-known methods (BKMs) and drive improvements within MOXTEK.
• Improve and/or develop new stamp making and master treatments, characterization & metrology, and controls acceptable for a production environment.
• Manage projects from initial concept and technology demonstration through development and transitioning to manufacturing, including internal & external qualification and other managed/gated design development processes.
• Create initial operating procedures, FMEAs, and other documentation.
• Perform, analyze, and implement results of Design of Experiments (DOE) to characterize processes.
• Train technicians and production operators on new operating procedures for stamp making and masters.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in engineering, chemistry, physics, materials science, or related field.
• 4+ years of working experience in NIL and/or stamp making.
• Experience working in a clean room, including knowledge of general IC processing.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; JMP preferred, including DOE and data analysis.
• Knowledge of optics is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and meet technical challenges.
• Ability to work with others in a diverse team environment and contribute individual expertise.
• Self-starter who identifies problems, innovates, and implements solutions.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, including business and technical matters.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to treat change and new situations as opportunities.
