Role, Responsibilities, And Learning Outcomes
- Algorithm and protocol design and parameterization for wireless systems projects.
- Simulate and evaluate communication systems and signal-processing algorithms.
- Hands-on work with Silvus radio products and Research & Development prototypes.
- System testing and characterization, to include: Lab equipment for signal generation, channel emulation, spectrum analysis, etc.
- Custom test utilities and data capture/analysis scripts.
- Field test planning and execution.
- Participate in the generation of technical documentation and presentations.
Required Qualifications
- In-progress Bachelor's degree or in-progress Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
- Basic understanding of digital signal processing.
- Exposure to Linear Algebra (Eigenvectors).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
- All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug testing.
Preferred Knowledge Skills And Abilities
- MATLAB coding experience.
- Understanding of Statistics and Probability applied to communication signal processing.
- Understanding of Physical Layer Signal Processing including optimal detection.
- Familiarity with OFDM and MIMO systems.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Office environment.
- Outdoor environment for demos.
- Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in the field.
- Lift equipment up to 20 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.
- Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
- Kneel or squat to access lower shelves.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. when receiving incoming part shipments.
- Walking/Moving in the labs.
