Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gather the outflow boundary condition properties of CFDWARP and write a data file that can be read by FLUENT.
  • Implement an algorithm in FLUENT to read the data file from CFDWARP and copy data on its inflow boundary.
  • Develop a chemical solver for Argon plasmas.
  • Set-up the domain and boundary conditions as described by Boeuf and Pitchford.
  • Compare CFDWARP results to experimental results by Boeuf and Pitchford.
  • Verify validity of every reaction rate within CFDWARP.
  • Review the code to isolate areas that are not efficient and recommend solutions to the existing algorithms within CFDWARP without changing their function.
  • Use Linex workstations and 640 core cluster to run our CFDWARP code to obtain data.
  • Analyze the data using the post processing software TECPLOT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • One year of relevant work or experience

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of FLUENT and CFDWARP is preferred
