About the role
In this highly visible role, you will be designing wireline high-speed analog mixed-signal circuitry for data center connectivity applications.
Responsibilities
- Research and apply cutting-edge design and validation for analog/mixed-signal integrated circuits for high-speed serial link applications such as fiber optic communication systems, Gigabit Ethernet (GE), enterprise storage, and wireless network routers.
- Research novel circuit techniques to achieve maximum speed and performance while minimizing power and area requirements.
- Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
- Determine design approaches and parameters; analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.
- Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
- Perform layout/design work in a non-ASIC product environment.
- Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors; exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Network with key contacts outside your area of expertise.
- Characterize and debug analog designs for manufacturability.
- Create circuit models to define package and PC board requirements.
- Develop circuit test plans for testing.
- Understand system-level architectural design of broadband communication SoCs.
Requirements
- Master’s degree and 6+ years of related experience or PhD and 3+ years of related experience.
Skills
- Analog circuit design.
- CMOS device operating regions and characteristics.
- Common circuit topologies used in CMOS analog circuits, particularly in circuits running at 1 GHz and above.
- Analog circuit design trade-offs and parameters (e.g., noise and distortion, frequency-response, mismatch, bandwidth, stability, or settling limitations).
- Signal processing in analog filters, analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, and feedback-controlled loops.
- Simulation tools, custom layout tools, and common lab equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, or similar).
Highly Desired Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to speak to various technical and management levels.
- Proactive, collaborative, and creative approach to innovation, technical development, and consensus facilitation to influence optimal project results.
- Excellent time and task management, and interpersonal skills.
Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $91,000 to $146,000. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, and equity in accordance with relevant plan documents and agreements.
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision plans.
- 401(K) participation including company matching.
- Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
- Company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
- Paid Family Leave and other leaves of absence in accordance with applicable laws.
