R&D Associate Engineer

About the role

In this role, you will support the strategic technology direction by contributing ideas for identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative technology, software, and solutions. You will assist the Research and Development (R&D) team by executing assigned tasks and applying technical knowledge in a structured way. The role contributes to the Motion business IEC LV Motors division in Bangalore & Faridabad, India.

Responsibilities

• Collect inputs from all manufacturing locations and merge them into common requirements for ETP-related development tasks and projects.
• Follow up on the performance of current global engineering tools: Adept, OMS, PDM, CAD tools, and make development proposals accordingly.
• Ensure new product development projects and product transfer projects provide efficient engineering tools and processes for all manufacturing locations.
• Follow up and develop ETP competence globally, including documentation, training materials, and trainings.
• Work as an independent and reliable contributor in R&D projects, requiring only limited supervision.
• Perform a variety of tasks in the assigned area (e.g., mechanics, electronics, thermal, software), from concepts and requirements through design, implementation, integration, testing, to technology transfer or maintenance and operations.
• Demonstrate the ability to independently recognize problems and provide input to solutions.
• Stay abreast of the state of the art (industry/academia) in your competence area as well as new and evolving technologies.

Requirements

• BE or B.Tech, M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 or more years of experience in a rotating machines background.
• Experience with PLM software—Teamcenter.
• Experience with 3D design, including use of NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent design platforms.
• Familiar and have practical experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, SAP, and other applicable software.
• Fluent in written, reading, and verbal English.
