Quoting Technician

About the Role

Prepare manufacturing quotes based on customer blueprints, drawings, specifications, and sample parts. Determine material and labor requirements, develop Bills of Material (BOMs), coordinate with customers and vendors, and work closely with production to ensure jobs are ready for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer quotes by reviewing blueprints, drawings, specifications, and samples.
• Determine required raw materials, manufacturing steps, labor, and tooling.
• Communicate with customers to clarify specifications and quoting requirements.
• Obtain material pricing and information from vendors.
• Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) and routing information.
• Coordinate with production to ensure materials and tooling are available before manufacturing begins.
• Develop detailed assembly and production instructions.
• Review and approve initial/sample parts from production.
• Update material requirements and labor times as needed.
• Perform basic drawing review and drafting when necessary.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent manufacturing/industry experience.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with manufacturing quoting, estimating, BOMs, or production planning preferred.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and labor requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and Lookup Tables.
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
• ERP system experience preferred.
• Basic AutoCAD or similar drafting software experience is a plus.
