About the Role
MITRE Labs is seeking a quantum technologies specialist to support both traditional and non-traditional sponsors as well as shape and implement internal strategy. The role is part of the Quantum, Optics, and Imaging (QOI) Department within the Emerging Technologies Innovation Center (ETIC), which focuses on emerging technologies with transformational potential for MITRE sponsors in the mid-to-long term.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to projects in one or more of the following areas: quantum computing, quantum sensors, and/or quantum communications
- Communicate results to government sponsors via presentations and reports
- Help shape MITRE Quantum Information Science and Technology Strategy
- Coordinate to expand quantum technologies work program
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or a Master's degree or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute to the quantum work program; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
- Expertise in quantum information sciences and technologies
- Demonstrated high-level research contributions
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
- Ability to work on interdisciplinary topics and communicate well across scientific groups
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government issued Security Clearance. Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be considered for a security clearance
- This position requires a minimum of 3 days a week on-site
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's in Physics, Quantum, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience in one or more areas of quantum information such as quantum computing, quantum networking, and/or quantum sensing
- Experience in working with government
Pay
Salary compensation range: $103,600 - $129,500 - $155,400 Annual
