About the role
The Quality Laboratory Technician supports laboratory testing for the Lafayette manufacturing process, ensuring accurate, efficient, and quality-conscious test results to control and develop production and metallurgical activities.
Responsibilities
- Support control and developmental activities for Production and Metallurgical departments.
- Provide accurate, efficient, and quality-conscious test results.
- Solve problems and interpret customer specifications and procedures.
- Maintain and control measurement assurance manuals and processes for physical-testing procedures (preferred).
- Train other laboratory technicians on test equipment and procedures (preferred).
- Perform sawing, machining, testing, and chemical analysis (preferred).
- Monitor and maintain control charts critical to AS9100 and Nadcap certification (preferred).
- Uphold laboratory cleanliness and safety requirements.
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment to meet departmental and plant goals.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of manufacturing or laboratory experience.
- Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
- Experience solving problems and understanding customer specifications and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data interpretation.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
- Must meet ITAR U.S. person status (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
