About the role

As an Analyst or Associate within Quantitative Trading & Research (QTR) FX Quantitative Trading team, you will work as part of the QTR front-office team on the trading floor in New York. This dynamic role is tailored for an individual who is responsible, independent, and able to coordinate smoothly with the larger team to determine the desk's profitability. You will cover a wide range of responsibilities, including designing trading and execution strategies, researching micro-patterns and trends, building and maintaining applications and tools, and supporting day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and implement algorithmic orders to execute on behalf of clients as well as internal manual traders.
  • Work closely with technology to develop cutting-edge, low-latency infrastructure that meets business needs in a scalable manner.
  • Intelligently utilize internal and non-public sources of liquidity to minimize the impact of algorithmic order execution.
  • Create generic and bespoke post-trade transaction cost analysis models and reports for evaluating algorithmic order executions.
  • Develop pre-trade transaction cost analysis to help clients choose algorithmic orders for appropriate execution.
  • Perform statistical analysis of algorithmic order execution for internal use and to drive iterative improvements.
  • Understand the firm's approach and policies for managing risks in relevant business areas and applicable legal and regulatory rules, and follow these policies.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate an interest in market microstructures and quantitative trading.
  • Design and programming skills, with a primary focus on object-oriented programming languages (C++, Java, C#, etc.) and Python.
  • Interest in applying agile development practices in a front-office trading environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with frequent interaction across different teams and non-technical users.
  • Strategic and creative thinking when faced with problems and opportunities, with a willingness to explore new approaches.
  • Understanding of different types of risk and ways of managing them.
  • Ability to communicate concepts and ideas effectively, both verbally and via documentation, tailored to different audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science (or equivalent).
  • Direct experience with agile software methodologies.
  • Macro markets experience and familiarity with general trading concepts and terminology.
  • Experience working with electronic venues.

Pay

Competitive total rewards package including base salary determined based on the role, experience, skill set, and location. Eligible roles may receive commission-based pay and/or discretionary incentive compensation, paid in the form of cash and/or forfeitable equity, awarded in recognition of individual achievements and contributions.
