About the role
Sanmina is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Quality Test Technician for its Fremont, CA facility. This role bridges quality inspection with technical testing, driving product excellence from incoming materials to final assembly.
Responsibilities
- Performs setup, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies using standard test equipment and test software/firmware.
- Executes incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections using standard measurement tools to ensure products meet exact specifications.
- Completes necessary rework and repairs based on diagnostic findings, while ensuring and documenting that all reworked assemblies pass rigorous quality control verifications.
- Identifies non-conforming materials, initiates Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and logs defect data.
- Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and assists in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Interprets blueprints, schematics, drawings, and diagrams to determine and help develop comprehensive test specifications and quality assurance procedures.
- Works closely with engineers to conduct quality experiments, perform audits, and assist in the selection, set-up, and calibration of specialized test equipment.
- Ensures all testing, rework, and quality operations are conducted in strict adherence to safety standards and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols.
Requirements
- Associate Degree or Technician Certification in Electronics, Semiconductor Technology, Electromechanical Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of related industry experience, ideally in a role that blends electromechanical testing, troubleshooting, and quality control inspection.
- Prioritized experience operating electronic test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes) as well as quality measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Strong ability to read and accurately interpret electronic schematics, mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, and technical manuals.
- Experience documenting diagnostic findings, logging defect data, and maintaining accurate written and computerized records (e.g., initiating NCRs).
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and plan work effectively in a dynamic production environment.
- Self-directed, highly dependable, and motivated with strong teamwork and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Some previous experience in QC inspection for SMT (Surface Mount Technology), PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly), or mechanical components.
- Familiarity with automated inspection tools or precision measurement instruments.
- Demonstrated ability to closely collaborate with engineering teams on experiments, root cause analysis, and process improvements.
- Basic knowledge of workplace productivity software (Microsoft Office or Google Workspace) for reporting and data entry.

Pay
Salary Range (annual): $58,240 - $64,480 ($28.00 - $31.00)
