Quality Technician II
Calgon Carbon | A Kuraray Company is seeking a Quality Technician II to join our growing team at the Neville Island Plant in Pittsburgh, PA. We provide outstanding products that make the air we breathe and the water we use safe for generations to come.
About the role
With minimal supervision, the Quality Technician II performs standardized laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to determine compliance against specifications. This role involves recognizing testing discrepancies, maintaining accurate laboratory records, and collaborating with plant teams and Corporate QA to analyze and communicate product quality parameters.
Responsibilities
- Interface cooperatively with other plant teams and Corporate QA to communicate product quality and analytical information, assisting in the proactive resolution of issues.
- Prepare samples for analysis and perform testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to establish conformity to specifications using written procedures.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all test data and results.
- Prepare and standardize chemical solutions in the laboratory on a routine basis.
- Recognize testing discrepancies, investigate their causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Communicate problem conditions to supervisors, peers, plant teams, and Corporate QA as required.
Requirements
- An associate’s degree or equivalent certification from a 2-year college or technical school is required.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification from a 4-year college or university may substitute for 2-3 years of experience.
- 2-3 years of laboratory technician experience or equivalent education is required.

Schedule
Full-time rotating shift position in a 24-hour, 7-day per week operation.
