We are looking for a talented Quality Technician to join our team at the Cummins Inc. facility in Forest City, NC. This role assists in monitoring materials quality, maintaining documentation, and supporting quality processes under close supervision.
Responsibilities
- Ensure quality control by comparing physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
- Conduct tests on electrical functions and reliability to ensure products meet performance standards.
- Test packaging quality to ensure products are protected during transportation and storage.
- Record test results meticulously to provide data for process and product quality improvements.
- Prepare simple technical reports to communicate findings to team members and stakeholders.
- Utilize measurement equipment to ensure precise and accurate testing.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying defects and areas for enhancement.
- Change management and production trials in coordination with scheduling, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams.
- Measure test samples and provide IMDS submission support.
- Production support, including issuing quality alerts and conducting process and product audits.
- Report daily offline inspection data and weekly scrap and rework data.
- Manage QA hold area, update logs daily, and work with quality engineers to disposition materials.
- Handle scrap transactions and support calibrations, including returning material for calibrations and DC tool calibration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Minimal or no work experience required; relevant experience may substitute for education.
- Licensing may be required for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
