Job Summary
Enforce that all elements of food safety within the Quality Monitoring Scheme are being met. Share any discrepancies with the QMS to their Supervisor or Quality Manager. These discrepancies are but not limited to HACCP programs, Allergen programs, Sanitation procedures, GMP findings, Foreign Material findings, and HOLD procedures. Ensure that all regulatory, customer, and company quality initiatives are being met and maintained.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform Quality checks on production lines in a timely and accurate fashion every hour per line. (Will frequently be responsible for 3 lines at any given time).
- Ensure that product being produced meets all legal and customer requirements as outlined in the Bluebook for each product.
- Complete paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion each day.
- Maintain instrumentation and equipment in good condition and stored appropriately.
- Label, store, and organize samples and product retentions.
- Follow Hold Procedures for all non-conforming materials or product.
- Perform HACCP and Preventive Controls checks/tasks as needed.
- Assist in test runs and new product trials as needed.
- Perform other audits or inspections as required.
- Meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Sustain plants 5-S efforts.
- Keep all information pertaining to our operations (products, customers, production details, etc.) confidential.
Required Competencies & Knowledge
- Education Requirements: Required – High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Preferred – Same
- Experience Requirements: Required – 3 months of as a Quality Assurance Technician. Preferred – 1 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Technician or other technical department.
- Skills, Knowledge, And Ability Requirements: Must have good attention to detail and be able to spot defects on fast-moving production lines. Must be able to gain a basic understanding of how different machinery operates as it relates to the quality of the product and adjustments that need to be made to correct certain conditions. Must be able to maintain good interpersonal communications with co-workers, employees from other departments, and superiors.
- Physical Requirements: Body Positions - Sitting, Standing, Kneeling, Crouching; Body Movements - Walking, bending arms, wrists, and fingers; twisting/turning of head, shoulders, and torso. Must have ability to lift 40 pounds occasionally and stand or sit for lengthy durations.
- Mental Requirements: Mathematics – Must be able to perform simple mathematic calculations and be able to work with fractions / ratios and percentages. Language - Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing and interface with customers, vendors and employees. Must be able to read and comprehend English. Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend Spanish is a plus. Must be able to perform basic tasks on a computer using Microsoft Office and other software packages as needed.
Working Conditions
- Work will be done in both climate controlled and non-climate controlled, production areas of the facility.
