Quality Technician I - 2nd Shift

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Overtime and weekend work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform hourly quality checks on production lines (typically 3 lines simultaneously) in a timely and accurate manner.
• Report discrepancies in the Quality Monitoring Scheme (QMS) to Supervisor or Quality Manager, including issues with HACCP programs, allergen programs, sanitation procedures, GMP findings, foreign material findings, and hold procedures.
• Ensure product compliance with legal and customer requirements as outlined in the Bluebook for each product.
• Complete daily paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintain 5-S standards and keep work areas clean.
• Protect confidentiality of operational information (products, customers, production details, etc.).
• Maintain instrumentation and equipment in good condition and store appropriately.
• Label, store, and organize samples and product retentions.
• Follow hold procedures for all non-conforming materials or product.
• Perform HACCP and preventive controls checks/tasks as required.
• Assist in test runs and new product trials.
• Conduct other audits or inspections as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (post-high school education preferred).
• Minimum 3 months of experience as a Quality Assurance Technician (1 year preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects on fast-moving production lines.
• Basic understanding of machinery operations and adjustments to correct quality issues.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; Spanish language skills a plus.
• Proficiency in simple mathematical calculations, including fractions, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers, other departments, and superiors.
• Experience with MS Office Suite.
• Commitment to following all safety processes and procedures.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures (may include warm or refrigerated areas).
• Team-based setting requiring professional and respectful communication.
• Physical requirements: ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally and stand or sit for extended periods.
• Must be available for overtime and shift changes based on staffing needs and customer demand.
