Quality Technician - Entry Level

About the role
Pratt Miller is looking for a qualified Quality Technician I to perform inspections, reverse engineering, and other metrology operations in support of programs from prototype through low-volume production in an ISO 9001 certified engineering and manufacturing environment. The Quality Technician will collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to provide data needed to support their functions and will have the opportunity to learn essential skills with guidance from colleagues. Candidates with the right skills and attitude may receive on-the-job training.
Responsibilities
- Dimensional inspection of parts to engineering drawings and/or CAD models
- Create, compile, and maintain inspection records and other required documentation
- Examine incoming parts and documentation to confirm correct specifications are met
- Part numbering and traceability
- Non-destructive testing of parts (Magnaflux and Zyglo)
- Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Use Windows-based computers and MS software such as Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 0-3 years of work experience in manufacturing or other relevant experience
- Experience with basic hand measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gages, and height gauges
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read basic blueprints
- Basic understanding of metrology best practices and gage handling

Physical Demands
- Position requires occasional moderate physical activity
- Moving and maneuvering heavy objects may be required at times
Schedule
- 7:30 AM start time, Monday-Friday
- 40-hour standard work week with overtime paid as worked when required
- Flexibility to accommodate fixed deadlines, sometimes working longer hours, Saturdays, and/or Sundays
Work Environment
- Combination of quality lab and manufacturing areas
- Periodic travel may be required between local facilities
- Stress may occur periodically
